At Bethany, Rte. 26 intersects Rte. 1 at the totem pole marking the town of Bethany. Turn right on Kent Street at the light just before Rte 1. Continue on Kent until you cross over the Assawoman Canal bridge. Turn right into Waterside Community.

Getting to the Beach
**SOUTH BETHANY BEACHES:

From Kent (turn left at the end of Waterside) go through Cat Hill by turning right
at Black Gum Drive, the first street after the bridge over the canal, and following the marked turns (there are actually arrows on the streets to guide you) to left at Canal and right on Evergreen Road which takes you out to Rte. 1 and then cross over to Atlantic (the street along the beach but one way) and the South Bethany beaches. You can purchase one-day passes for these beaches at the South Bethany Town Hall at the end of Evergreen Street which will enable you to park along the beaches south of Sea Colony to the beginning of the Fenwick State beach. You can park with these passes wherever it says “Permit Required” in South Bethany.

**BETHANY PROPER BEACHES: From Kent (turn left at the end of Waterside) and go past Sea Colony by turning right after the first light past the bridge on to Jefferson Bridge which brings you out to Rte. 1, cross Rte. 1 to Pennsylvania Ave. and Bethany proper. You can get one, three day or weekly passes* for Bethany proper beaches at the town hall on Garfield (across from the totem pole) or at the Change and Information Booth (in the middle of town) to park at the metered parking spots near the beach. Or you can feed the meters with quarters (one quarter per 30 minutes) on the streets running parallel with the ocean or the small parking areas at the entrances to the beach off of Atlantic such as at Parkwood, Wellington or Oakwood. These are the closest beaches to the boardwalk and the town. *Parking Permit Costs for Bethany Proper: 1-Day: With this permit you may park at any meter all day, except for Garfield Parkway or the meters in the commercial zone. Cost, $9. 3-Day: With this permit you may park at meters with the same restrictions as above. Cost, $27. Weekly: With this permit you may park at meters with the same restrictions as above.
